From 06 to 09 March 2023, the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) took part in the Asia- Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) 2023 Digital Broadcasting symposium under the theme “Sustainable Technologies and Strategies in Broadcasting” in capital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The convention was the very first edition of its face-to-face activities, in the Post- COVID 19 Era hence its general theme “Back To Business”. For four days, nearly one thousand delegates from all over the Asian continent and numerous guests, deliberated on issues as diverse as the monetization of radio services, cybercrime and the media industry. Others included: sustainable technologies and strategy in broadcasting, media solutions and their implementation, digital media management and media automation. These topics required the convening of various academic and professional experts, to provide all the useful insights to address the existing concerns about radio and television broadcasting. The gathering was also an opportunity for the outgoing ABU Secretary General, Dr. Javad Mottaghi, to bid farewell to the union members. His successor takes effective office next April.
