The second AUB Media Summit on Climate Change was scheduled for 13–14 February 2025 at King Fahd Palace in Dakar under the theme “Reaching the last mile: Radio for climate action”.
The summit brought together government representatives, UNESCO, UNDRR, Senegalese broadcasting leaders, climate experts, community-radio representatives and international media organisations.
Sessions focused on the role of radio in climate communication, the Media Saving Lives initiative, climate finance, disaster preparedness, indigenous knowledge, local voices and the health impacts of climate change.
The summit aimed to identify practical strategies making radio a stronger actor in climate adaptation and disaster-risk communication while reinforcing cooperation between media, scientists, governments and communities.
