As part of the 2025 activities of the AUB Foundation Against Cancer (AFAC), the African Union of Broadcasting is launching a series of four masterclasses on male cancers, starting on 15 April 2025 at 11:30 GMT.
The programme aims to equip media professionals with practical tools and good practices to better inform and educate the public on male cancers.
Session 1: Understanding male cancers – 15 April 2025 at 11:30 GMT. Session 2: Ethics and media coverage of male cancer – 29 April 2025 at 09:00 GMT. Session 3: Testimonies and storytelling – 14 May 2025 at 09:00 GMT. Session 4: Prevention and awareness strategies – 22 May 2025 at 09:00 GMT. Each session lasts 120 minutes.
The first session will be led by Dr Berrhouma Sami, Head of Urology at Habib Thameur Public Hospital and President of the Tunisian Society of Urology.
The training is designed for editors, reporters, journalists and focal points of AUB’s content exchange platform AUBVISION, with the aim of strengthening accurate and sensitive storytelling on male cancers.
