As part of the preparations for the AUB summit on artificial intelligence, a delegation of the AUB met in Yaoundé with the Minister of Basic Education of Cameroon, Professor Laurent-Serge Etoundi Ngoa
The delegation led by the Director General of the AUB, Grégoire Ndjaka, said it was happy to know that issues related to AI are one of the major concerns of the Ministry of Basic Education of Cameroon in view of the rapid development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and their appropriation by young people. It is for this reason that there exists within this ministry a focal point responsible for artificial intelligence.
Together, the two parties discussed the ministry’s involvement in the summit, particularly with regard to issues of ethics, awareness-raising and training of toddlers in the use of AI.
