LUANDA OIL DISCOVERY
LUANDA, 10 September 2026 — TotalEnergies has announced a new oil discovery at the Acacia-5 well in Angola’s Block 17, which is expected to contribute approximately 6,000 barrels per day to the country’s oil production.
The French energy company has also signed agreements to enter two new exploration blocks, 17/25 and 32/21, where it will hold a 40% operated interest.
TotalEnergies and its partners plan to invest approximately US$10 billion in Angola over the next five years, reinforcing the country’s position as a key investment destination in Africa’s oil and gas sector.
The development is expected to support further exploration and production activities and contribute to Angola’s efforts to sustain oil output and attract new investment in the energy sector.
