In 2005, Juma took on the role of Head of News at NTV. There, he continued to sharpen his satirical edge through Bull’s Eye, a re-branded version of his earlier political feature. His editorial leadership and creative storytelling saw him rise to the position of Managing Editor, a role he held for nearly a decade.
After a brief stint away from mainstream media, Juma joined the Kenya Red Cross, where he played a foundational role in launching Switch TV. He also served as Head of Content at the station. In 2019, he returned to NTV as Managing Editor, before transitioning at the end of 2020 into media consulting, training, and mentoring.
Juma has contributed significantly to media regulation and governance. In 2021, he chaired a Media Council of Kenya task force examining the influence of betting by media houses, and later led the selection panel for appointing the Media Council’s chairperson and council members.
