Media representatives from China and Belt and Road countries announced a new vision for global cooperation during the 11th Visual Media Forum in Beijing, calling for a more diverse, inclusive and healthier media landscape. More than 140 representatives from 108 international media organisations and major outlets across 63 countries and regions attended the event under the theme “Vision for a Shared Future”.
Marking the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, China Media Group (CMG) and more than 80 media organisations jointly proposed a declaration on common action by Belt and Road media organisations. The declaration calls for stronger media responsibility, innovative cooperation and greater exchange among civilisations.
CMG President Shen Haixiong said media organisations should contribute to a more inclusive and constructive international information environment by offering diverse perspectives and strengthening cooperation.
