Following the AUB Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Media held in Yaoundé, Cameroon from 4th to 6th March 2024, and given the high interest from members, we have the honor to invite your organization to attend the AUB- Masterclasses on AI in partneship with Viory. This Masterclass will target three cohorts: High & Middle level Managers; Reporters and IT Managers.
Member organizations present in Yaoundé deemed it necessary to have a hands-on training on AI application in newsrooms, it is for this reason that AUB is bringing to you three high level masterclasses on the following topics:
1. General verification course

Learn to verify your videos step by step in a comprehensive and interactive course for video validation and verification. You will be presented with the keys to verify any footage and will try yourself as well.
2. Challenges in newsgathering and verification (Contextual examples).

What are the specific challenges encountered depending on the location? What happens when copyrights enter a gray area? Some events can force a newsroom and a verification team to step out of the box and think differently. We will look specifically at the challenges in newsgathering and verification in our African coverage.
3. Challenges in verification and the emergence of AI,
In this new era where new AI tools are being invented constantly, we will dive into the advantages and threats of using them. We will focus on verification tools and the novelty of text to image generated content.
