Grégoire Ndjaka, Director General of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), has been named the recipient of the prestigious “Grand Builder of Africa” Award. This distinguished honor will be presented during the 5th edition of the International Builders of Africa Conference (CiBEL).

The CiBEL conference will be held on March 29th in Côte d’Ivoire. This recognition celebrates Mr. Ndjaka’s unwavering dedication to elevating journalism and expanding access to quality information throughout the African continent. It also acknowledges his pivotal role in convening the highly significant summit on artificial intelligence and the media, which took place from March 4th to 6th, 2024, in Cameroon.

This landmark forum, co-organized by the AUB and UNESCO and themed “The New Frontiers of African Media: Artificial Intelligence,” tackled critical issues such as the automation of editorial workflows and the profound impact of AI on the diversity and integrity of information.

Alongside Grégoire Ndjaka, a constellation of influential figures will also be honored, including Dr. Aisha Bello, a pioneering force in digital education across West Africa; Jean-Luc Mputu, an entrepreneur championing renewable energies; and Fatima Zahra, an activist dedicated to the empowerment of rural women.

These exceptional individuals, each a leader in their respective fields, exemplify innovation and a commitment to excellence in service of the continent’s sustainable development.
