Cleophas Barore succeeds Arthur Asiimwe, who was appointed proposed Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in the United States. A senior journalist with extensive experience in the media industry, Barore brings the skills and knowledge required to lead and manage the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency effectively. His understanding of Rwanda’s media dynamics and trends, together with his ability to analyse the national media landscape, will support informed decisions and strategic planning for RBA.

His knowledge of Rwanda’s historical and political context also provides an important perspective on the country’s public-service media needs, particularly in a post-genocide society where media have a crucial role in promoting reconciliation and unity. As RBA’s new Director General, Barore also succeeds de facto the former President of the AUB Executive Council and will work closely with the AUB Director General and other senior officials to help the Union fulfil its missions and objectives.
